Prof. Marco Caccamo, holding the Chair of Cyber-Physical Systems in Production Engineering at the TUM School of Engineering and Design (ED), has been distinguished with the highest accolade in his specialized field for his outstanding technical achievements and leadership. Prof. Caccamo’s work primarily revolves around embedded systems, with pivotal contributions spanning the avionics, agriculture, and automotive sectors. His approaches have led to the development of groundbreaking software architectures and toolkits that enhance the automation of embedded digital controllers and the management of low-level resources in real-time operating systems across multicore architectures.
Recently, Prof. Caccamo has ventured into addressing real-time, security, and robustness concerns within unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) software architectures.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, presented the annual Technical Community on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS) award at the IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium in May 2024. This prestigious award has been a cornerstone of recognition in the technical community since its inception in 1999.
