“Shaping the Future”: Female TUM Engineers Share Insights into Their Professional Practice

TUM alumna Denise Jakob explains how she found her way into civil engineering. She discusses the technical and organizational aspects of her role as project manager for the development of a new subway line, as well as the interdisciplinary collaboration involved. Her account highlights the diverse tasks associated with large-scale infrastructure projects.
The U9 line is among the most significant infrastructure initiatives in the city of Munich. As a joint project of the municipal utilities (Stadtwerke München, SWM) and the City of Munich, it is designed to relieve the existing subway network and significantly increase public transport capacity.
