Contextual competence
The Centre for Key Competencies supports students at the School of Engineering and Design throughout their studies – from the start of their degree programme to graduation. Our goal is to strengthen both your academic and personal development. We offer a wide range of formats and courses that go beyond pure subject knowledge. Our offerings are specially tailored to the needs of engineering students – practical, applicable and on an equal footing. In this way, we support you not only in successfully completing your studies, but also in finding your role as a responsible designer of tomorrow.
Contextual studies
As part of the contextual studies programme, you have the opportunity to attend courses and modules from other schools, departments or chairs in order to supplement the specialist studies of engineering degree programmes with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary educational content.
Project-based learning
Project-based learning at ED promotes practical problem solving and interdisciplinary thinking. Teamwork, communication and self-management strengthen both professional and social skills for everyday working life.
Onboarding
Starting in a new life situation brings with it many challenges. Whether it is the start of your studies, moving to another country or other changes - with the right support it will be easier! At the Center for Key Competencies, we offer various programs to help you settle in.
Scientific Work
Studierende der TUM School of Engineering and Design können in diesem Themenbereich verschiedene Angebote zum wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten und Schreiben belegen. Ziel ist immer, die Stärkung der Kompetenzen im wissenschaftlichen Kontext in Bezug auf eigene wissenschaftliche Projekte wie Bachelor-, Semester-, Masterarbeiten.
