Lea Köglmeier was awarded the 'Prize for Good Teaching 2023' (Preis für gute Lehre) by Science Minister Markus Blume. She has been teaching at the Chair of Computational Mechanics at the TUM School of Engineering and Design since 2022. What is particularly remarkable about her teaching is, among other things, the flexible learning process adapted to the individual needs of the students and her promotion of active interaction.
The Ministry emphasized:
Individualization: Lea Köglmeier's teaching allows students a flexible learning process adapted to their needs. The successful activation of the participants in presence as well as in digital participation is remarkable.
Interactive: The didactic and practical organizational design of the central exercise encourages active interaction and enables ongoing review of individual knowledge levels through continuous feedback. These basic structures, developed jointly by all participants, make it possible to immediately identify and address potential gaps in knowledge and understanding during the learning process.
Student-oriented: Ms. Köglmeier combines digital and analog learning and teaching methods. She also has an accompanying support service for students, such as a continuously supervised online forum for queries or additional consultation hours.
With the “Prize for Good Teaching,” the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts recognizes the work of teaching staff at Bavarian state universities. The framework for this year's award ceremony was a "Day for Good Teaching" at Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm. The event focused on ways to design effective teaching and learning processes. The prize was awarded to 20 lecturers at Bavaria's universities.
