In his address, TUM President Prof. Dr. Thomas F. Hofmann congratulated the graduates who completed their doctorates under the high demands at TUM. Hofmann emphasized the importance of teamwork: "Future challenges cannot be solved as soloists. Powerful teams with complementary expertise are needed in an increasingly interdisciplinary TUM environment and an international, intercultural setting. The characteristic of exchanging thinking cultures in teams will be more important than ever in the future."

In the presence of the donors, the ED awarded prizes for excellent dissertation and master's theses.
Professors Karsten Stahl and Konrad Nübel were also honored by the University President's Office of the Technical University of Munich for excellence in teaching. Professor Liqiu Meng received the Supervisory Award 2022. In addition, the Dean welcomed the new appointments since the founding of the School and honored the professors who retired from the School as well as from the legacy faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Civil Geo Environment, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and Aerospace, Geodesy in the last three years.
Following the ceremony, ED invited the doctoral graduates and their families, the award winners and donors, and the School's professors to a champagne reception to celebrate the graduation in a fitting manner.
